Australia’s Indigenous Heritage

Australia is rich with Indigenous heritage, culture and history. Our Tours include opportunities to learn about and gain an appreciation for Aboriginal Culture. We pay our respects to all custodians of these lands, past present and emerging. See our Acknowledgement of Country.

Aboriginal Australia

Prior to European settlement, the Australian continent was made-up of around 250 individual Aboriginal nations as seen in the map image above. Each nation had its own language, with some having more that one unique language.

As we travel west towards Uluru (Ayers Rock) from Alice Springs, we journey through 3 separate traditional areas. We also refer to these as language groups.

  • Luritja
  • Pitjantjatjara
  • Arrernte
