Aboriginal Art

Cultural Centre

We visit the Cultural Centre near the base of Uluru. Here you’ll find Aboriginal artworks displayed and for purchase, including books and more.

Uluru Sunset

We often we have Indigenous artists from the local Mutitjulu community bring their art to the Uluru sunset viewing area. It’s a great way to engage with Aboriginal people and learn about their artwork.

Aboriginal Cave Art

Aboriginal Cave Art at Uluru dates back many thousands of years. We have a pretty good idea too! Traditionally fires would be lit for warmth and cooking, inside the caves. The soot that covers the paint pigment (Ochre) is accurately carbon dated.

Kulpi Mutitjulu

(Pictured) Discover amazing symbols in the Mutitjulu Cave, that in context give some enlightening meaning. We understand Kulpi Mutitjulu (Mutitjulu Cave) to be an area traditionally used as a teaching cave.
