We can’t guarantee it, but often we have Indigenous artists from the local Mutitjulu community, bring along their art to the Uluru sunset viewing area. It’s a great way to engage with Aboriginal people and ask about their artwork.
Aboriginal Cave Art
Aboriginal Cave Art at Uluru dates back many thousands of years. We have a pretty good idea too! Traditionally fires would be lit for warmth and cooking, inside the caves. The soot that covers the paint pigment used (Ochre) is accurately carbon dated.
