My husband and I absolutely loved our time on the Rock to Rock tour. When moving to Australia, it was on my bucket list to go to Uluru however when looking at doing it ourselves it was way over our budget. I’m so glad that I found Mulgas tour as it hit all the main spots we wanted to go & was very reasonably priced. The tour exceeded all expectations! Our guide Andrew was really knowledgeable, such a good story teller and his dinner on the last night was the best meal of the trip by far (one of the best I’ve had in Australia). I cannot recommend this tour enough, it is definitely a once in a lifetime experience & the small details such as a massive communal charging port, snacks after hikes & the goodie bag at the end, showed just how much this company cares about their customers ☺️
Just wrapped up an incredible four-day Rock to Rock tour, and I couldn't recommend it more! Just finished an amazing 4-day Outback Adventure with Mulgas and loved every minute of it! I had the best time on this tour. As a city boy I was a bit nervous about how intense the camping would be, but I had so much fun sleeping in a swag under the stars, I would highly recommend it. Sophie was a wonderful host and guide, and the food was great too. The sites themselves (Uluru, Kata Tjuṯa, and Kings Canyon) were awe-inspiring and magical. But it was the small, in-between moments with my friends and fellow travellers, like cooking bacon on the grill, figuring out how to roll up a swag, and games around the campfire at bush camp, that made the whole trip magical. This was a really special experience that I will carry with me for a long time. Huge thank you to Sophie and the Mulgas team.

We absolutely loved this tour and would highly recommend for anyone who truly wants to experience the outback! The tour price was fair with plenty to see without rushing around or being bored. We had a smaller group of 17 which was perfect for getting to know each other and keeping a fun atmosphere throughout the trip. Our tour guide Alex was great, he was very funny and kept the group spirits up even on the long drives and full of fun facts about the landscape around us. We also really enjoyed the swag camping under the stars and would definitely do it again!
The 3 night camping trip in the Red Center was truely an incredible experience with Mulgas. We visited Uluru, Kata Tjuta and King's Canyon, with sunrises and sunset views everyday. We were really lucky to have Sara as our guide, who made this trip even more fun. She is an exceptional guide - explaining the history, geology and the cultural significance of the sites we visited, and she is so fun and capable in managing the group (there were 16 of us) and making sure were comfortable. From sleeping arrangements to food options (including great vegan options for some of us) we were truely taken care of. Highly recommend booking this tour for anyone interested in experiencing the outback and doing some camping (including beginners!)
I had the most incredible experience with Mulgas on the 3 night rock trip and then 2 night Alice-Darwin tour.
My tour guide Alex was amazing! He kept the energy going all tour and was very knowledgeable about the places we went to. This was genuinely a once in a lifetime experience and I could not recommend more.
I also had Jason as my tour guide from Alice springs to Darwin and we was super funny and great to lead us too! I hope I manage to go back someday and do it all over again!
Tour Information
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING
Our tours are for the young and adventurous who are keen to get involved and have the true outback experience! Therefore our tours require your participation for the collection of firewood, going on hikes and doing some bush cooking. Our tours have age restrictions in place, for ages 18-49 years.
The itinerary for our tours may change due to weather and other seasonal conditions. We encourage people to check out our cancellation policy.

Our tours can get snatched up quickly, if you are planning your trip we advise to book 3 months in advance to make sure you don’t miss out!
In case you have left it to last minute, we recommend contacting us directly so we can check out what’s available in case of cancellations and extra tours.
Our tour season differs depending on which tour you’re choosing to book.
Our Uluru tours run from mid January to mid December – closing over the Christmas period.
For the Darwin tour, our tours run in the Dry season when all the National Parks and Roads are open so we can give you the full experience. This is between May to October.
In addition to your standard items you are travelling with (clothes, toiletries etc.), we request you bring the following:
- Water bottle
- Hat
- Walking/Hiking enclosed shoes
- Swimmers/Bathers
- Towel
- Small carry bag
Addition items we recommend you bring, but are not essential:
- Face fly-net
- Bug spray (depending on seasonal changes, for mosquitoes etc.)
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Small pillow
We have a maximum of 24 on a tour. Our buses have either 21 or 24 seats, and all tours carry a trailer.
Our tours involve participating in a number of outdoor activities such as hiking, sleeping on the ground in a swag, collecting firewood, participating in cooking meals. This is why we have age restrictions of 18-49 years old.
These restrictions are in place so everyone involved can have an enjoyable time on tour with us, we want to ensure you are comfortable and can participate in these activities so you don’t miss out on the full outback experience!
