© Mulgas Adventures, West Macs Monster Trail Running FestivalThe West Macs Monster is the most exciting trail running event on the Larapinta Trail in Central Australia.

The iconic Larapinta Trail, in the Tjoritja/West MacDonnell National Park in Australia’s Red Centre is definitely a bucket list hiking destination for thousands of people around the world each year. Now ultra runners will have the opportunity to test themselves on up to 231km of spectacular single track in a full length end to end, non-stop ultra race event being organised by the Alice Springs Running and Walking Club Inc (ASRWC).

You can tackle the full 231km Non-Stop Sonder Monster. 128km Ellery Monster, the 65km Standley Monster or a casual 25km of delightful single track in the Simpsons Monster.

Returning for a Northern Territory tour, after a sell-out Darwin Festival 2021 Season.

The Hypotheticals is both a deeply personal story and a work of imagination for the writers and performers Jeffrey Jay Fowler and Sarah Reuben, as they contemplate their futures and the future of their (yet to exist) children.

The Hypotheticals contains strong language and adult themes.

Ghost Gums is an annual open air, family friendly, live music event held on Arrernte Country in Mparntwe, Alice Springs 20kms south of town.

Come join us to sit around the fire, amongst the trees and beside the ranges, tapping your toes to local, travelling NT & interstate bands of a night celebrating the blues and the influence of its rhythm and soul.

BYO picnic and rug! Don’t forget your beanie and please leave the four legged furry friends at home. Parking available but we do encourage people to offer a lift to your neighbour as they’ll hopefully be coming along as well! Be on time to secure a good spot to stay warm by the fire.

Alice’s Longest Desert Lunch now takes pride of place as the premier food and wine occasion in Central Australia with the leaders in the restaurant and catering industry, showcasing to the world just what Alice has to offer.

This is our own dining extravaganza, supporting the ongoing operation and growth of the Hamilton Downs Camp, a not for profit community organisation that provides a bush destination primarily for youth, also a great venue for other private functions and corporate groups.

Celebrating NT Heritage Week (23-30 April 2022), the Public Library is hosting a Trivia Night at the Jump Inn to test your mental mettle on all things historical in the Red Centre!

This year’s Heritage theme is ‘Curiosity’ – from the city to the regions, this theme brings heritage to life by encouraging communities to actively wonder, investigate and learn about natural, cultural, Aboriginal, living and built heritage around the nation.

A four day mountain bike stage race in and around the town of Alice Springs.

Each day of racing includes a course for avid mountain bike riders and a shorter course for riders who want the thrill of racing but at a much more social pace. March 2022

The NT Government has taken the final step in acquiring land for the National Aboriginal Art Galley at the current ANZAC Oval site.

The National Aboriginal Art Gallery will act as the centrepiece of the $150 million precinct. It will also include an open, family-friendly green space and grand entrance.

Construction is expected to commence in late 2023. Completion is expected during 2025.

The first annual report cards of the 10 Year Regional Destination Management Plans (DMPs) was released on 22nd March 2022.

Highlights included working with Traditional Owners to expand mountain biking experiences in the Alice Springs region.

The Destination Management Plans and annual report cards are available on the Tourism NT website.

The Rotary Club of Alice Springs has announced the return of the Bang Tail Muster Parade. It will be held on Monday 2 May 2022, after a two-year absence.

The parade has been held for more than 60 years. It provides an opportunity to pay tribute to the early history of Alice Springs.

This year’s theme: “Destination Alice Springs. Things to See and Do!”
