Done the 4 days camping in a swag and loved every bit of it. The scenery is just stunning, a lot of very special places to see in the red center! The tour takes you to a lot of different places and walks around Uluru and Kings Canyon, sunrises, bubbles at sunset, even got to see some camels 😃. Very well organized as well regarding food and camping, we had a bbq, got to try camel burger and kangoroo steak, made a bonfire, sone relaxing time at the pool when the midday heat gets to much etc. And Liv our tourguide did an amazing job keeping the whole group in line and making the trip a fun one. She also had lots of interesting information about the area, cultural stories, plants, history etc. Nice to have a guide you could see loves the job and area, makes it fun trip plus lots to learn. I'm grateful I did it because I found amazing people! I have to say that Alex (the guide) was great! He loves what he does and he made sure we always felt good in what we were doing. I've never done camping before (and it's probably not my favourite thing) but I must admit that experiencing the outback in the way this tour allows you to experience it, it's wonderful. Camping in the outback was on my bucket list of things to do while backpacking and I am so lucky I stumbled upon Mulgas. Our guide Ewel did a great job and made the group feel safe and comfortable throughout the tour while providing us with heaps of his knowledge about the outback and aboriginal culture and history. I have to admit, I was a little hesitant to book it at first but I am SO glad I did! Liv was an amazing tour guide and was super knowledgeable about everything there was to explore and talk about. She always made sure our safety came first and brought the energy the whole time, even during the early mornings and rainy days (which were both totally worth it!). Our group was lucky enough to see waterfalls and lightning storms at Uluru, plenty of wildlife, and a rainbow over the canyon. Our group had a fabulous time, Phil rescued a baby Joey whilst on our way to Uluru which was an amazing thing to see & despite the fact we had rain, thunder and lightning at times- Phil kept the tour fun and updated us with any changing plans. The camping in swags was much better than expected - they were pretty comfy too. Our guide Jason was amazing - knowledgable, got everyone involved and always made sure we all had fun. There was SO much food and it was always so tasty. I’m a vegetarian and there was so many meat alternatives - they don’t just give you a boring bean burger haha. We never went hungry as there was also so many snacks along the way. Our group was fantastic. Everyone got on really well. Despite going with my partner, there were many solo travellers but we all mixed - if you’re a solo traveller, don’t worry. We were all one big group 🙂 We got picked up from Alice Springs right on time and dropped back off when the tour finished. Only down side was the flies - 100% bring a fly net as they are lethal and in your face. However, they do disappear once sun sets. No cons for the actual tour though - the company were fantastic and we absolutely loved it. Jason was one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. I am not a camper and was a bit worried about the prospect of camping in swag tents in the bush, but it was an amazing experience and I’ll always remember it! Our guide Alex was amazing - knowledgable, responsible and made sure we all had fun but stayed safe too. We did three hikes, one per day, and the scenery was amazing. We got up early enough to see the sunrise and be finished walking before it got too hot, which was hard when the alarm went off but we all agreed it was so worth it! The food was also really good and vegetarians were catered for, but for meat eaters the meals were super high in protein and very tasty. There were plenty of snacks too, we never went hungry and you could manage without bringing extra snacks (although we chose to) We had a great group of fellow travellers and Alex encouraged us all to get to know each other and we definitely did that. Id 100% recommend for solo travellers! Pick up and drop offs were well organised and pretty flexible to people’s plans too. This trip is amazing value for money and a perfect way to see this part of Australia! Recommended 👍 read less28/09/23

The communication with the office has been fantastic so booking was really easy. Alex was able to pick us up in town instead of waiting at the airport. Uluru was great but nothing like the rest of the trip. Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon were definitely the highlights of the trip. The schedule was perfect; between food prep, setting up camp and cleaning up there was just enough time to enjoy the moment. Alex was really good at leading the group whilst leaving space for a natural bond to form between everyone. I did not expect to enjoy this experience that much. The group was comprised of backpackers from all over the world which made it easy to fit in as a solo traveler. Olivia (Liv) was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide who was kind but also ran the trip efficiently and softly encouraged everyone to get to know each other/get out of their comfort zones. I really enjoyed the hikes - I only wish we could’ve gone on longer hikes or maybe done two shorter hikes in a day, but I understand we are limited by the daytime heat and that many areas are off-limits for non-indigenous folks. The stars were one of my favorite parts of the trip, though the sunrises/sunsets were pretty unbeatable as well. Also, do yourself a favor and bring a fly net (even in spring)!! read less13/09/23

Had read all the good reviews and can honestly say that every expectation was thoroughly exceeded. Our tour guide Olivia was absolutely fantastic, and made the whole group feel relaxed and involved. Really engaging tour, with lots of participating including help set up camp, cooking and collecting firewood. This really made the tour something extra special and felt a sense of achievement at the end of the day relaxing around the campfire. The experience of sleeping under the stars every night is honestly something I'll never forget. The Bush camp (the final night of the 4 day tour) was so cool really feeling like you're properly in the outback. It was an unforgettable experience of exploring the Australian outback and seeing some of the best landmarks in the country. We were picked up from the Ayers Rock Airport shortly after landing, where we met our friendly and knowledgeable guide, Alex. He drove us in an air-conditioned bus to our first destination, Uluru and we walked around the base of Uluru where Alex shared some information and stories about the culture and geology. In the evening, we watched the sunset over Uluru and toasted with a glass of bubbly before heading back to the campsite for dinner. The next day, we woke up early to witness the sunrise over Uluru (Ayers Rock). It was a magical sight to see the rock changing colors as the sun rose. We then headed to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). We hiked around the stunning rock formations and learned about their cultural significance. We then drove to Kings Canyon (Watarrka) about a 3.5 hour drive, with a couple stops to see a salt lake and Mount Conner and to collect some firewood, where to our exclusive bushcamp, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner and slept under the stars in swags. On the third day we did a hike along the rim of the Kings canyon at sunrise. We saw amazing views of the canyon and the surrounding landscape. We also visited the Garden of Eden, a lush oasis in the middle of the desert. We then returned to our bushcamp in Ylara for another night of camping and stargazing. The tour was well-organized, fun, and informative. Alex was a great guide who shared his passion and knowledge of the outback with us. Felt like we were able to be part of the tour, getting the fires going cooking dinners together, cleaning up etc. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the best of the Australian outback. She was very knowledgeable in her interesting (but random) bush facts and knew the answers to most of our questions. The tour is one of the cheaper ones on offer but in my opinion definitely the best. This is because instead of being put into posh hotels for the nights you get to spend time cooking eating and sharing stories round the campfire together such that by the end of the trip you feel like you have known your fellow tourers for years. By far the best night is the last night when you get the full bush camping experience. You dig your own toilet as a team and help prepare food for cooking on the campfire. The itinerary was extremely well organised, and we packed in far more than we could have self-arranged but with perfect cadence (Kings Canyon on the last day was a highlight for us!) Our tour guide Lauren was fantastic, so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and clearly doing her best to maximise enjoyment of everyone in the group. A great mix of medium difficulty hiking (~7km half days with early starts, which is all you need in the hot conditions) and campfire and bbq (ample food and snacks provided throughout the day). Sleeping in a swag around the campfire under the stars was a highlight and super comfy. Be prepared to pitch in and gather fire wood, and contribute to cooking and cleaning around camp - in our opinion this added to the authenticity of experience and bonded the group and allows the company to deliver such great value for money. read less28/08/23

This was my first time in the outback and doing a solo tour, and I had an unforgettable time. The group of people was great and our tour guide Phil knew everything and could answer all of our questions. The idea of sleeping in a swag scared me at first, but it made the whole experience. The hikes were very doable and we could take all the time we needed. Last I want to mention that there was enough food. There were snacks throughout the whole day (fruits, cookies etc.) and the meals were more than enough, there was always enough for seconds/thirds. I appreciated that a lot! Everything was so seemless and timed so well! Picked up with ease from the airport by our fabulous guide Lauren. We explored Uluṟu, learned about the culture and had champagne at sunset. The days at Kata Juta and kings canyon were equally amazing! We camped each night under the stars in sleeping bags and swags. I was extremely nervous about camping but Lauren reassured us throughout. I’m a vegetarian, the food was so tasty and versatile. Even got some veggie Bolognese cooked on the campfire and pancakes on the last day! The scenery is amazing but Lauren really made the trip so special! Her knowledge and respect for local culture was so evident. She was so enthusiastic and kept us all entertained even on the longer drives with bus trivia and great music! The trip completely exceeded my expectations thanks to Lauren. From sunrises and sunsets at Uluru, to hiking up heart attack hill at Kings Canyon, it was such an incredible experience!! Lauren was just an exceptional guide and I couldn't have asked for better. She was so much fun, so kind and full of information about all of the sites! We even got a few stories about the stars which I loved! The experience as a whole was amazing from start to finish. It was alot more outback than I expected, but Lauren went out of her way to make us feel more comfortable and after leaning into the experience, I fell in love with swag camping! Sleeping around the campfire and under the stars every night was more magnificent than I ever expected. Food was amazing, getting everyone involved and trying a real aussie bbq of kangaroo! Plenty of fruit and snacks to keep you going throughout the day. The tour is perfect for solo travellers or people in small groups as you have a great mix of both!
