An amazing authentic experience of the Australian outback, sleeping under the stars in swags around a campfire. I was most worried about the cold in July but was perfectly cozy around the fire and in my swag. We saw dingoes, the milky way, ate camel burgers and saw Priscilla's crack! Delicious food, beautiful hikes and our amazing tour guide Nicole really made the trip one of the most memorable ones I've done in Australia. Mulga Adventures is the real experience of central Australia. read less

Our first day we completed the Uluṟu circuit track and that night watched the super moon sunset with the gorgeous change in colours. Our tour guide Laura provided champagne and talked about the history, indigenous culture to this particular sacred sight and how to get the best photos. The second day was based at Kata Tjuta. It was a brisk, early wakeup, but the pictures at sunrise were priceless. We collected firewood as a group, building teamwork and quite a bit of resilience! Laura has an excellent selection of music for the bus (and Aussie humour), making bus trips so much fun.The third day was spent in Kings Canyon. This is perhaps the most difficult hike for some, but also provides the best views and sunrise pictures. Again Laura explained the history and cultural importance of the canyon, it’s formation and pointed out some particular sights on the trail. The fourth night is incredibly worthwhile for the bonding, bush camp experience, and to properly finish of the trip. The sunset was spectacular and we viewed it from a private sand dune. The blood red moon was incredible as was the Milky Way. Due to the expert planning, we had the best spot to take pictures without others in our way for all hikes, sunsets and sunrises. Similarly the swag camping around the fire and meals were well catered for (vegetarians and all!). Showers and electrical outlets were available at all camp grounds aside from bush camp. Make sure to pack a powerbank, LOTS OF WATER, a head torch, warm clothing, hiking boots and a beanie. read less

This tour was different to the standard offering but nothing was too much trouble for Jason and the team throughout the booking process. During the tour, Janner was truly phenomenal and went above and beyond, every step of the way. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he was constantly one step ahead and busily working away to take care of us all. The trip was the perfect mix of an authentic outback experience with a few luxuries (champagne and hot showers) thrown in along to make sure we never felt like we were roughing it. Janner's extensive knowledge of both the cultural and geographic history of every site added an additional layer of meaning to the trip and has provided us all with memories and learning that will last a lifetime. I cannot recommend Mulgas and Janner highly enough!! The trip of a lifetime!! read less

We helped with the fire woods collection from the wild, chopping, cooking, washing, rolling up the swags etc, it's an experience in itself!Laura was knowledgeable and informative about the local tales and lore, funny while organising some games when doing the long drive. This tour would be best suited for those hiking enthusiasts, proper hike around Valley Of The Winds and Kings Canyon, in the early pitch dark freezing morning, thought I walked a lot back home, but this was like going up on uneven stone steps at some points, which made me realised that I am consistent when it comes to steps, I don't do steps! read less

Awesome prep for everything from food to logistics and sharing the knowledge about the uniqueness of this place, indigenous culture, geology and guiding us with prep in the morning, tips for photos, staying warm and hydrated. The views of uluru, Kara tjuta and kings canyon are one of a lifetime experience, can’t explain the feelings I had seeing the sunset and sunrise looking at the rock. Planning was on point, everything went just swimmingly. The swags and sleeping bags kept us warm around the campfire in the freezing cold during the night. Loved the collaboration with the group on cleaning, meal prep, firewood collection, setting up a bush camp. All the best memories from this place, the people I met on the tour, Mulgas Adventures and Laura in particular!!!! If you’re looking for real outback adventure and ready to spend 4 days camping with a group of likeminded strangers, just go for it! read less

All us passengers helped out with meal prep, wood collection, and all sorts of management of our camp site. But far from being an annoyance, it was a great way to feel accomplished as well as learning some new skills! We visited in July, so it was definitely cold at night (down to 0 C), but the fire definitely helped and the experience of sleeping in a swag under the stars was really magical. No flies either! Our guide Laura Holmes was the best, truly key to making it an unforgettable experience. Not only is she super knowledgeable about the history, geology and culture of the area, but also served as our chef, driver and DJ (always with the perfect music with incredible timing to ensure everyone had "a lovely day". Laura kept us on a tight schedule to ensure we avoided the rest of the tourists and enjoyed every experience as fully as possible, from sunrise to sunset. She also has the best tips to take incredible pictures to capture the outback's spirit. We even managed to see camels, kangaroos and cockatoos! I definitely recommend this trip if you’re active and are looking for a really memorable way to experience the outstanding beauty of the Australian outback. read less

If you’re looking for a quick adventure hit with a side of fun, this is the tour to pick. What an incredible experience! It was perfect. The perfect amount of adventure, fun, relaxation and the perfect tour guide to make it all happen. We were fortunate enough to experience all kinds of weather on our trip, and our guide, Ben, made quick decisions to change the itinerary to ensure we had the best experience possible. His many years of experience as a guide was evident in his clear communication, fantastic stories and his educated and insightful knowledge on the communities and landmarks we visited. Most people would tick something off their bucket list and move onto the next adventure, but I’m putting this one back on. I can’t wait to do it all again. Thank you Ben for an experience I’ll never forget & memories to last a lifetime. read less

Gave the group some really deep and interesting information about the history and geology of the area. The entertainment was excellent and the music choice was spot on all the time. Sleeping in swags was a great experience that anyone should do in this part of the world as it’s the real experience of what’s it like to be out in the bush and you can really appreciate the stars when in this type of environment. The food was great and we didn’t go hungry. Snacks during the walks and more than enough for the main meals. I learned a lot about what’s it like to survive in the bush and had a fabulous 4 days. Also future groups please help her fulfil her dream of getting into the Vegemite catalogue. Thanks Laura for making it so memorable. read less
